A T. rex in Detroit

“Sue” the Tyrannosaurus rex is coming to Detroit! The renowned dinosaur, or at least a life-sized cast of her, left the Chicago Field Museum for the Michigan Science Center in the Motor City.

Sue is the largest, best-preserved, and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex ever found. She measures 42 feet long from snout to tail and 13 feet tall at the hip. She is a handsome, majestic creature, but probably not one you would like to meet in the wild. The Rex has 58 dagger-like teeth, which it utilized with great efficiency as the apex predator of its time.

The towering beast will be on display until January 3rd, 2016 at the Michigan Science Center.
