Science Around Michigan is partnering with West Michigan CISMA to promote Aquatic Invasive Species Awareness Week, July 3 – 9.
I am pleased to announce that Science Around Michigan will be teaming up with the West Michigan Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) to bring attention to the serious impact of aquatic invasive species in Michigan.
The partnership brings together science communication and decades of expertise in understanding and dealing with the impact of non-native animal and plant species. For Aquatic Invasive Species Awareness Week, we will be publishing content from experts around Michigan about the importance of invasive species management and how you can help make a difference in protecting both Michigan’s economy and environment.
What is a CISMA?
CISMA is a group of partner organizations all working together to address invasive species management in a defined area. For the WM CISMA, this is an 8 county area and involves organizations such as local Conservation Districts, nature centers, the U.S. Forest Service, conservation agencies and organizations, and private individuals all working together with similar goals.
